About IALACOLREG
IALACOLREG is an independent, free, multilingual study resource for international maritime rules. We exist because collision regulations should be clear, visual, and accessible — not locked behind paywalls or hundred-page PDFs.
Our mission
Make COLREG 1972, IALA buoyage, lights, shapes and sound signals genuinely learnable for seafarers, students and recreational skippers anywhere in the world, in their own language.
What we publish
COLREG rules, IALA buoyage, vessel lights and shapes, sound signals and 14 GMDSS study modules, with quizzes and supporting visuals. Exam guides help connect topics to a syllabus; they are not complete official examination papers.
Editorial
IALACOLREG publishes independent study material based on the cited maritime sources. Educational summaries, translations, questions and illustrations require checks against the relevant source and its scope.
