It ties a line to a round post, rail or spar with two crossing turns. It's quick to tie and easy to adjust.
When do I use it?
To hang a fender at the right height, or to hold a line to a post for a short time while someone is there.
What's the catch?
Under a pull that changes direction or comes and goes, it can slip or work loose.
When not?
Not as an unattended mooring knot. For that, use a round turn and two half hitches or a cleat hitch.

The two turns sit side by side on the post, with an X crossing on top.
The end and the standing part come out in opposite directions.
The hitch is pulled tight, not loose on the post.
If the load may change, there's a half hitch as backup.
