The shore-based theory for RYA Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Coastal and Offshore. The practical course or exam is separate: Yachtmaster Coastal needs 30 days at sea (2 as skipper), 800 miles and 12 night hours; Yachtmaster Offshore 50 days (5 as skipper), 2,500 miles and five passages over 60 miles. Both need first aid and SRC certificates.
